New rules launched to attract HNWIs to Malta.

With effect from 1st January 2011 new rules are in force to attract High Net Worth Individuals to Malta. The Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment launched the new High Net Worth Individual Schemes on 15th September 2011. These new rules were introduced by Legal Notices 400 and 403 of 2011 and replace the former Residence Scheme Regulation. Under the new HNWI Schemes, separate conditions apply to EU/EEA/Swiss nationals and non EU/EEA/Swiss nationals.
