Malta's reputation as an international financial services centre has been greatly enhanced by the fact that the OECD has approved the fiscal regime, while the FATF has not made adverse comment to it. Moreover, Malta's imminent accession to the EU, earmarked for the 1st May, 2004, will ensure that its advantageous fiscal system is available within the internal market.
