Over the last few years, the Maltese government has privatised a number of corporations in which it formerly had majority shareholding, amongst them Malta’s largest bank, and the national telecommunications corporation. The process has greatly accelerated in the last few months, and most of its other corporations will also be privatised in due course. GVTH has been on the forefront of these developments and on occasion has successfully represented foreign corporations who have wished to tender for these take-overs. The firm has also been heavily involved in the subsequent share offerings on the Malta Stock Exchange, and remains the legal adviser to a significant number of corporations that are currently moving towards being privatised.
